LED light therapy shows up everywhere from dermatology clinics to home devices, but the idea behind it is simple: different wavelengths of light are absorbed by skin cells in different ways, and each wavelength is associated with a different effect.

The wavelengths, briefly

Red light is the one most associated with supporting skin's appearance over time with consistent use. Near-infrared light penetrates slightly deeper and is often paired with red light in multi-wavelength devices. Blue light is a separate category again, typically discussed in the context of clearer-looking skin rather than anti-ageing.

What actually matters for results
